It’s very frustrating when the notes you hear in your head sound like crap when you map them out on the fretboard. No matter what note(s) you flat, sharpen, or add to.
I did make headway though tonight. There’s a blues riff I came up with a few months ago that ends with a descending chromatic line. For some reason I my head and fingers want to go into some classical ditty, because that’s what I hear. BUT!!!! Tonight I finally broke that temptation and figured while the chromatic line is going I could dub a second guitar playing 3 chords over it in staggered time. I just need to figure out 2 out of the 3 chords I want used.
Cool thing is I learned a new chord tonight while fooling around with my blues riff. I’m assuming it’s a jazzy type of chord cause it sounds like something you’d hear in that type of music (funny huh?). It’s an awkward chord, but I can smoothly transition my fingers to it without it sounding bad.
My wife was downstairs working on a puzzle all night while I noodled on my guitar and she just gave me kisses letting me know she’s heading off to bed. So I’m heading off too.
Our little family currently consists of Darryl, me, along with our pups Lucas & Lily. We've been together for 14 years now, and we love every minute of it. I enjoy all types of crafty things such as knitting, crocheting, photography, sewing, and making cards. Darryl enjoys gaming (both PC and PS3), playing guitar, cooking, and just veggin out. Lucas and Lily just love to sleep, eat, and pets.
