Have you ever heard anyone almost declare the sentence they are about to say with a loud “UH!!!”? I never really paid attention to people saying ‘uh’ because it’s not too frequently used in casual conversation. But when the ‘uh’ is louder than the sentence following it, then it becomes quite noticeable. It’s almost like a verbal crutch for some people.
