January And Loving It

Who care’s about astrological signs when we’re in the month of January. The most happening month for us and to others nary.

Enough of that stuff, anyway……we’ve been slacking a bit on the blog as far as real posts. Yea, yea, I know, Margaret has been doing the pictures, but we need to mix it up a bit with words.

Since I don’t feel like giving a full update of what’s been going on (because I’m lazy) I’ll just tell ya’ll what we did today.

I shoveled the driveway for a spell till our neighbors came over with their plow and finished the job (Dave I always appreciate it when you come over with your lawn tractor now just take some of my gas!!!). Margaret and I went out and spent too much money. Okay, we really did spend a lot, but it wasn’t because we wanted too, it’s because the dollar sucks and doesn’t go far anymore (that’s OUR fault). Then we came home and cooked up a storm. A Mexican storm as a matter of fact. Who knew that this German mutt and Irish mutt could make such great dishes?

(No recipes were used in the following exercise)

See, I prepared the enchilada meat and salsa while Margaret made the guacamole and queso. Two words that’s really one with two syllables: Heaven!!!!

Everything turned out so good. What I needed was Margaret’s taste buds to tell me what was missing as she used mine too. Our tongues are whores for one another’s food.

In the end we had such a great broad range of food. And this was Margarets first time making guacamole and it turned out so good. I think it’s the syndrome of “if other people make it, it tastes better than my own,” because her guacamole; to me; tasted better than mine.

Overall, one thing is for sure and that’s our Mexican food tastes better than any Mexican-styled restaurant up here. Hate to say it, but even shitty old Cancun’s in Knoxville is better than El Rodeo up here (pronounced El Row-day-Oh if you’re a local or from California).

By the way, Margaret made four awesome loaves of bread today. I can’t wait to make sandwiches on slices of them. They came out of the oven smelling great and had a great thump to them. The water bath she put underneath the bread while they were baking kept them moist.

hmmmmm, think I’m going to get me some bread. Later folks.
