So Margaret was coerced to do the Black Friday thing with a friend and I have to say, it was the first time I ever heard her say that it was fun. So that’s a great thing. She left at 4 in the morning to hit all the stores and luckily the ladies she was with were “hit it and get it” girls. No lolly gagging.
The funny thing is that I got back from walking Lucas around 8:30 or 9:00 that morning and lo and behold, the garage door opens. Sure enough, it was my little woman pulling in with her bountiful booty that she pillaged from store to store with a massive grin on her face. She showed me all her wares and you could just feel the excitement still oozing from her. It was really cute.
After she unloaded, she was ready to scrap book. I’m not talking about the kind of scrap booking that involves just a table and a ton of supplies. No, I’m talking about being decked out in scrapping clothes (paint stained), fuzzy socks, and comfy sweat pants with a hot cup of coffee and 80′s music pumpin’. Yea, serious scrapping that is.
Somehow I managed to talk her to get out of the house to pay the water bill with me since we lost the one that was sent to us. From there things went a little different.
We hit Petsmart and got poop scoop some toys, because he’s really hard on the chew toys (which I prefer than him chewing on our things). From there we ran all over the place just getting little items. Her goal was to buy me stuff for early Christmas presents and I just have a hard time buying and picking stuff out for myself. I’d rather her get herself something. ANYWAY……………………………………
We’ve been in the market here recently for living room furniture. So we hit Big Lots to see what they had, because it didn’t need to be expensive; just comfy. What they had to offer was alright. I mean we were definitely going to be settling for something that we didn’t much care for, so we left empty handed with furniture. We got back at the house and did some measuring to see what would fit and did some pre-positioning with pillows. We were both kinda bummed at the selection, so I asked her if she’d like to hit a local furniture place and see if they had a round pedestal table that she’s been wanting. That perked her up a bit and we hit gold. The lady at the showroom showed us a table that has a nice distressed look, was round, and the pedestal wasn’t too absurd, so we went with it. All on a whim.
This is what the table looks like, minus the stain we chose.
As the lady was filling out the receipt we eyeballed a couch and chair set that was off to the side. Like a couple of kids closing in on a new piece of playground equipment, we circled the pieces, touched it a bit, and then went wild and laid all over it. The couch was real comfy and the material was a soft corduroy texture. The funny thing is, is the color is brown. We normally go for earthier tones and nothing too dark or light, so it’s a slight departure for us. We talked it over and told the lady to slap those bits onto the order. Needless to say, she was happy. Until I asked her to take a hundred bucks off the order. She was doing the ‘well, I don’t know….but I’ll see what I can do’ thing. A hundred bucks for those places ain’t crap, but the whole time I stared at the woman with a smart assed grin on my face till she said ‘okay.’ My thinking was, for the amount of coin we were throwing down you can cut a hundred bucks off of the order, because if not, I would’ve told her to forget about it. Luckily that didn’t happen. I then told the woman as we were paying, “You made out pretty good today didn’t ya?” haha, didn’t realize what a rude statement that was, but that’s what I was truly feeling so……….

This is pretty much it!
We sealed the deal and we headed out. Margaret was happy. I was pretty much indifferent, cause it’s money that’s leaving our pockets. It was one of those Aqua Teen Hunger Force Moments: “We don’t need a toilet. The pile of clothes in the hallway has worked fine for us for years, and it will continue to work.” From Master Shake.
From there I went ahead and picked out a game for myself and Margaret took me out to eat. She’s so sweet. I told her that I was sorry for keeping her out since she wanted to scrap, but she said since I never want to get out that she was going to take advantage of the situation. I swear I’m not a recluse.
So ‘Black Friday’ ended up being a pretty good day for being out and about.
Our little family currently consists of Darryl, me, along with our pups Lucas & Lily. We've been together for 14 years now, and we love every minute of it. I enjoy all types of crafty things such as knitting, crocheting, photography, sewing, and making cards. Darryl enjoys gaming (both PC and PS3), playing guitar, cooking, and just veggin out. Lucas and Lily just love to sleep, eat, and pets.

Nice…I love that!!!!!
That’s awesome..glad you both had a great day!
