Since I’ve been hankering for a strategy game, I settled for Privateer; which is set in the Wing Commander universe.  I downloaded this from GOG.com and it does not disappoint.

For an older game it does right; gameplay wise; what current games cannot manage (Sol for example).

It manages to have a great radar, keep suspense, and not make you feel helpless.  One thing I have found with a current game called Sol is that while the graphics look good, It’s not fun due to the relentlessness of the AI.

Maybe that’s why I am drawn to these older space-Sims.  The older ones have a better story, better gameplay, and a more immersive universe.

Granted that Sol is new and developed by an upstart company, I hope the next iteration is closer to classic games.  Then I think, they’ll have a good handle on bringing the genre back

I’m very thankful for her kindness, generosity, humor, patience, and love.  I could go on and on about how wonderful she is, but I think she speaks for herself quite amazingly.
I’m very happy to say that with the 15 years we’ve been together that you just get better and better every year.

Love you little momma.  And who said 78 models couldn’t surpass a 77?

This is a New Years day I can support.

I hope 2012 will be better for everyone that has had a rough 2011.

We’ve been fortunate this year to evade the eye of the corporate axe, so lets pray that 2012 will be as safe.

For anyone out there that’s faced hardships due to a terrible economy and lack of jobs available; there’s always revolution.

Sleeping like no ones business.

When she’s gone I get very depressed. I tend to reflect back on the times we’ve shared and our lives. Having someone in your life for so long and not realizing what you have until it’s gone is quite an awakening.

Sorta like the Daryl Hall and John Oates song called ‘She’s Gone.’ Yeah I better learn how to face it, but she’s gone. The great thing is, she’s coming back to me on Thursday! That song has a lot of emotion in the vocal melody and music to really stand out to me. Of course the lyrics suggest a different tale, but that’s not what I’m getting at.

I love Margaret more than anything. She’s my little 5’2″ little momma. Little momma short legs. Old woman (said in a shout).

It still feels like it was yesterday when we were first dating (soon to be 15 years ago).

Love you more and more each day.

Looks like ole Luke is a wee bit sleepy.

I don’t think I’ve laughed and reminisced as much in a long time.
