Happy Birthday Little Woman!

So today marks the 34th anniversary of my wife’s birth.

I’m very thankful for her kindness, generosity, humor, patience, and love. I could go on and on about how wonderful she is, but I think she speaks for herself quite amazingly.
I’m very happy to say that with the 15 years we’ve been together that you just get better and better every year.

Love you little momma. And who said 78 models couldn’t surpass a 77?

Yes this is early, but as most people know, we go to bed with the chickens.

I hope 2012 will be better for everyone that has had a rough 2011.

We’ve been fortunate this year to evade the eye of the corporate axe, so lets pray that 2012 will be as safe.

For anyone out there that’s faced hardships due to a terrible economy and lack of jobs available; there’s always revolution.

Ummmm….We love you family. Friends, be safe and don’t drive while drunk tonight.

I’ve finally finished up the last of the Christmas gifts… cards have been bought, gift cards picked out, slippers have been felted, sweaters have been knitted, blankets have been tied. I have a few other things that I need to get done, but I’m setting those aside for right now and knitting a little something for myself

It’s been forever since I’ve posted here! Nothing has changed much… I’m mostly working (all the time), and in between I’m trying to knit. I’ll try to give you a quick run down of what’s been going on.. here go’s. So I finished my first sweater, made a cardigan, currently working on my second sweater along with other miscellaneous things. Darryl has been cooking a lot (mostly Chinese food *yummy*). We’ve got our new AC unit installed along with a new “high tech” control panel (it scares me). Darryl just bought a snow blower (is new big boy toy). I’ve been harvesting all the black walnuts I can steal from the squirrels, we received a whole bunch of green tomatoes from a lady that Darryl works with, and a half a bushel of apples from out neighbors. Lucas and Lily are working out great! We’ve really been enjoying the cool walks and the shorter days. I finally finished Darryl’s fish shorts!!! We have our 11th year anniversary coming up and we’ve decided to take the entire week off. I can’t wait to have some time with Darryl!

Because you suck major ass!!!

So on Mother’s Day our mom’s were supposed to receive their flowers right? No, instead they receive their flowers on Thursday, but here’s the best part.

This is what I ordered

Do you happen to see the difference here?

Maybe it was the florist, but if you look at what I ordered, you see lovely wild flowers, lilies, and such. If you see what was delivered it either looks like a funeral arrangement or a deranged Ferby.

The best part of it all? My mother in law received her flowers looking somewhat like the picture, but no card signifying what they were for. Now, from the Floral-by above, you see a card, but Lord knows what it says.

So overall, this is my last time with 1-800 Flowers. They gave me their big FU, so here’s mine!

Oh and the icing on the cake, I ordered the large bouquet’s right? From the look of the funeral arrangement above and what my mother in law said, they were small. So soooo, stupid.

Next time we’re going to call a local florist in the area and do things the right way.

This pattern comes from Elizabeth Zimmermann in her Knitters Almanac. These were so fun to knit I plan on getting started on another pair (smaller this time).
