Back from Vacation….

We had a wonderful time on vacation. We had to come back a little early because of some school issues, but I won’t go into that here. I’m still really angry! Oh well… we’re back and I will be sharing photos as soon as I get them downloaded and converted.

Busy week with some good news

Wow this week has been so busy… Helped a friend paint her apartment, went shopping for baby shower gifts, working on a baby brag book for the baby shower, getting the baby shower games together, returned clothes to Kohl’s, went shopping at Target, baking a baby shower cake today, finishing the baby brag book, working on our school papers for this weekend (we have 4 that have to be turned in). WOW that’s it? It sure did seem like a lot more when I was thinking about it in my head….

And the good new is I”m going to TN to visit in August from 8th-16th. I”m so excited to see all my friends and family. Darryl doesn’t get to go because he doesn’t have the vacation time yet. Hopefully he can live without me for 8 days. lol I should have lots of photos when I get back so watch out for the blog post saturated with pics…

Well almost time for me to hit the road to work so catch you later.

The house

Well we’ve got ourselves a house. It won’t be final until 8/25, but everything is pretty much a done deal. We heard from the inspector and the only thing he was really worried about was the mold located in the attack, and the age of the furnace and A/C. We talked to our Realtor and requested that the sellers provide a home warranty that would cover all the mechanics of the house and that they take care of the mold problem. They have agreed to our requests, so hopefully the mold problem will be a done deal by the time we move in. Any way below is the a photo of the house… I took it with my phone because I didn’t have my camera with me at the time. Doesn’t Darryl look cute checking out the super huge trees in the front yard?

Almost Gone

Well guy’s and gal’s, we’re almost out of our house. Our poor 10×10 storage unit we’re renting is getting full fast. I couldn’t imagine how full it would be if we had bedroom and living room furniture in it. Luckily it’ll just be our new king sized bed. And damn is that thing huge. It’s a wonderful bed to sleep on, but I’m not looking forward to moving it again.

We close on the 30th and we’ll be out by the 28th, so we’re rockin’ and rollin’.

We very fortunate and appreciative that my Dad and Monique are letting us stay with them for the two months we have till we move up north. Very very nice. Well folks I’m out.

June Update

I can’t believe how much time has passed since my posting. Mom called me last night saying that it’s been since May since we had anything new so…..We apologize.

We do have some good news though. Our house has sold and we close on June 30th. It’s a great relief to get out from under this house since we need to be in Michigan by September 1st. I know the people who get this house really don’t have anything to worry about since we updated a ton of stuff.

Let’s see, the weather here sucks with the high humidity. When it’s 90+ degrees and the humidity is anywhere from 50 to 80 percent something has to give. Luckily we planted hearty plants outside that can live with small amounts of water.

Other than that, that’s all I got kids. I’m out!

I sure am lucky to have a wonderful and beautiful wife that I do. She let me dive into some Big Country heaven this evening. I ordered a total of 4 albums and rarities package (that includes 7 CD’s!!!!). I’m so excited. I think these are coming from Scotland (where the band is/was from). I can’t get enough of Stuart Adamson’s work.

Who would’ve thought that I would have latched onto an 80′s group that’s very talented over all the metal albums I still have.

By the way, the new Ministry album “The Last Sucker” is pretty good.

Hey folks. Some how my wife’s computer lost 6 gigabytes worth of picture’s that she took while we were in Philly. I tried a recovery program and had her halt everything that she was doing on her machine to no avail.

She’s very upset right now, because there were some that she was tweaking to print so we could hang them on the wall.

I guess we’ll remember that trip the old fashioned way, using the ole noggin.

From the previous posts, ya’ll know that Margaret and I were on a short vacation lat week. If it weren’t for our loving brother Allen to show us around Philly, there’s no telling what we might have missed. I’m sure if we all had more time allotted to us, we would’ve seen more.

Below you’ll find a picture of Allen, our gracious host. I tell ya, he was more than patient with Margaret and her picture taking. He looked at it as a break from walking, while I was ready to trudge on ahead. That’s a fault of mine. If it weren’t for Margaret taking her picture’s I would’ve missed a lot around me. It’s funny when it comes to nature I like to stop and look, but when it comes to architecture or city-scapes I just keep a going. Such is the hustle and bustle of life. Anyway, enough about me.

Here’s a toast to Allen, to the beers and stories we shared on that awesome day in Philly. We love you man!

Philly/Wildwood Vacation

Darryl and I had a wonderful vacation. We went to Philly and then to the Jersey shore to a small beach town name Wildwood.

Instead of trying to remember all the things we did and all the happenings we decided to buy post cards and write down small little details for that day. I have scanned and inserted the post cards below in the order or events. Hopefully you can read my hand writing and will over look any misspelled words. )

We had a layover in Detroit on 8/8/07

Arrived in Philly on 8/8/07 @ 11:57pm – on 8/9/07 we did the tourist thing (please disregard the ink smudges)

We arrived in Wildwood at 12pm on 8/10/07

We spent the day at the beach on 8/11/07

We left Wildwood on 8/12/07 and drove back to Philly to catch our plane home.
