I just submitted my 3 papers ….. not feeling very confident about any of them. Mostly because the directions were never consistant on what form the papers should be written in . One part said a report and the next part said essay… huh??? how am I supposed to determine what’s right and what’s wrong?

I’ve got a bad feeling that I’ll be getting them back for lots of revisions! I’ll let you know the outcome.

Well We Did It

Margaret and I received the results of our second class and we passed.

It wasn’t bad, because it was essentially two papers that we had to write. The hard part is down the road where we take the test, but you know WGU has been pretty good so far as in making you study what you need to know. And it’s not like you’re really studying, because you’re researching information on your papers, so of course you’re going to retain more info. That’s not trying to say we won’t be studying, but you get the gist of it.

Other than that, that’s all I gots to report on. I’m gonna enjoy my coffee and let my belly settle from my awesome egg breakfast.

Done with Business Ethics papers

We’re finally done with both of our Business Ethics papers. Pretty much all week we’ve been reading & doing the soft skills tests to get prepared to start writing the two essays. The softskills is just another system that WGU uses to help it’s students become familiar with the course content. I have to say I enjoy those more then reading the book itself. While reading I found my mind wondering onto other things.

The first essay we had to write was an opinion piece based on a given situation of a company who does have a very good social responsibility to the surrounding community. I found this paper really hard and could feel myself struggling to find the words to convey what I was trying to say. Of course this is an area that continually stumps me. I’m not to happy with it, but I’ve beat myself up over it long enough… I’m going to submit it and see what I get.

The second paper wasn’t really an essay. We had to come up with a code of ethics for our pretend company, a training course, system for monitoring, system for auditing, pathways of reporting violations, and a plan to review/update the code. I am really proud of how this paper turned out and can’t wait to see what grade I get.

Starting Art class on 28th

We already had to turn in a homework assignment for Art class and it’s hasn’t even started yet. It was a pretty easy assignment though so I’m not stressing just yet. I’ll let you know how it is after the first class.

For the 1st assignment we had to list artworks (artist & title) if we can, and a brief description. Then we had to tell why the artworks mean something to us. Below are the two artworks that I picked for the 1st assignment. I had to look them up because I wasn’t sure about the title and artist.

Title: Singing Butler
Artist: Jack Vettriano
Description: There are four people in the picture. Two men, one is dressed as a butler and is holding an umbrella and one is dressed as a business man. The other two people in the picture are women. One women is dressed like a maid and is holding an umbrella, and the other is dressed in a red slender dress with red gloves. The business man and the women in the red dress are dancing on what looks like a deserted beach. This artwork appeals to me for two reasons. The first one is because the picture exudes love and romance and the second is the women is wearing a red dress. Red has always been my favorite color and I’m drawn to it.

Title: La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Artist: John Waterhouse
Description: A knight and a peasant lady are in a forest. The lady is setting on the ground bare foot and the knight in full armor is kneeling in front of her. The women has her hair wrapped around the knights neck and is pulling him closer to her. It looks like they are about to kiss. This artwork is also very romantic, and I love that the lady has her hair wrapped around the knight. The knight seems captivated by the lady and is unable or unwilling to pull away. I had always associated this artwork with the Arthurian times which are one of my favorite genre’s.

It’s Monday

While my wife was at work doing her thing, I was at home working on our papers for class. We’ve really had quite an eventful past two weeks and year quite frankly. We really aren’t feeling our papers much right now and they’re due tomorrow. You figure it’d be easy for us to pick a topic and argue it, but Lord have mercy.

I got a call from a likely job prospect saying they found someone else for the position. I was saddened by that, but that’s okay. It wasn’t meant to be, besides I didn’t really have the qualifications, but it was cool that I was interviewed. The temp agency say they have some prospects for me, but I need to call back on Wednesday to get all the info. That’s cool with me.

I don’t really feel like not working anymore (as if I really had a choice, lol).

Today was a good day. My mom called me to see how I was which was very sweet. I miss her and everyone else so much, so does my wife.

Well kids we’re off to bed, we’ve had enough of today. Time to dream of good things. God bless you all!!!
