but the yard always looks so nice once we’re done. Darryl and I always have a blast working together, and the time seems to fly by. He does all the heavy lifting and I do all the raking. We make a perfect team. Plus it feels so good to come in to a warm house and set down after you’ve done a little manual labor. hehehe

Hope everyone had a good productive weekend like we did!

It’s been forever since I’ve posted here! Nothing has changed much… I’m mostly working (all the time), and in between I’m trying to knit. I’ll try to give you a quick run down of what’s been going on.. here go’s. So I finished my first sweater, made a cardigan, currently working on my second sweater along with other miscellaneous things. Darryl has been cooking a lot (mostly Chinese food *yummy*). We’ve got our new AC unit installed along with a new “high tech” control panel (it scares me). Darryl just bought a snow blower (is new big boy toy). I’ve been harvesting all the black walnuts I can steal from the squirrels, we received a whole bunch of green tomatoes from a lady that Darryl works with, and a half a bushel of apples from out neighbors. Lucas and Lily are working out great! We’ve really been enjoying the cool walks and the shorter days. I finally finished Darryl’s fish shorts!!! We have our 11th year anniversary coming up and we’ve decided to take the entire week off. I can’t wait to have some time with Darryl!

I promise!!! 2010 was a rough year for my entire family, but 2011 will be better. This year my New Years Resolutions are going to focus on family/friends, Darryl, and me.

Faimly/Friends -I will be better about remembering birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries. I will be better at sending out cards/gifts. I will send/give out only/mostly handmade gifts. I will be better about calling family and friends on a regular basis.

Darryl – I will be a better wife. Less nagging, more supportive! Less criticizing, more encouraging! Less structured, more impulsive! Less demanding, more giving!

Me – Less me time, less worrying, less stress, less work, more family time, more play, more walks, more fun, more laughing. More creating, baking, photo taking, more lazy days.

I promise!

I found this great tutorial on making a Trashy Novel Wallet, and couldn’t resist making one of my own (minus the trashy novel cover, but only because I don’t have one). I think this is a great idea for those times when you don’t want to lug around a purse. Your id, $$, & credit card fit snugly inside and can slip into your back pocket.

This is my fist attempt… I’m already plotting my next one (I think I’ll get smaller snaps next time)

You are an obsession

When I see these photos I think of the song “You are an obsession” by the 80′s group Animotion. I’m kinda embarrassed to say this, but this isn’t all of it… not even close… the rest of it is in my hobby room. Oh, wait… did I say my hobby room? What I meant to say is our computer room. Although, I have to admit, that’s a laughable thought beacuse Darryl’s stuff sets in a small corner of the room and along the smallest wall. The rest of the room belongs to all my stuff. At what point should this obsession be addressed? Should it be addressed when you notice a cardboard box is setting in your living room to hold your yarn (DARRYL WHY THE HELL DID YOU LET ME PUT A CARDBOARD BOX IN THE LIVING ROOM JUST TO HOLD MORE YARN?????)? What about the fact that the “end table” is being used as a bookshelf to hold all your knitting/crocheting books so they can be close at hand. That same “end table” is also so packed with needles, hooks, buttons, etc that you have to constantly move things around just to make room for your cup of coffee? What about having to walk around this huge pile of yarn in the middle of the living room just to get to the couch? What about having too many “in progress” projects, but you’re not finishing them before you buy more yarn? What about when your husband just encourages you to purchase more? Is there a group for this?
