I’ve had a wonderful weekend! On Saturday I came home from work and took a nap… then D and I took a shower and got ready to take my brother out for CONGRATS dinner. Unfortunately John and Michelle couldn’t make it because Michelle was working late. But Darryl and I stopped at a new little BBQ place called Shane’s Rib Shack. Okay food, and good service. Then Darryl took me to Scrapbooks and More store. I was in scrapbooking heaven! We then headed to Blockbuster and rented 3 “silly” movies, Joe Dirt (sucked), First in Show (good), and P.S. Your Cat is Dead (sucked).

On Sunday Darryl and I were lazy and stayed in bed until 9:30am. Stopped @ Weigles to get coffee and then headed to Wal-mart to do some grocery shopping. Went to Office Max and decided to replace the 2006 calendar still hanging in the kitchen with a dry erase calendar. Darryl made my much awaited birthday dinner (lamb chops, herbed mashed potatoes, mushrooms in white wine, & broccoli) and while he was cooking I went through all my scrapbook magazines and pulled out all the layouts I liked. After eating dinner Darryl and I went for a walk and I took lots of pictures. Now Darryl is enjoying a bowl of ice cream with pineapple topping (yum yum) while surfing online.

For my birthday I got the movies cars & monsters Inc from Darryl. I also received “Thunderstruck” by Erik Larson from Kathy and Terry. (I’m totally loving Devil in the White City by the way, and now that the OT has stopped I plan on finishing it up by next weekend.) (PS Terry I’m sending you “Portrait of a Killer; Jack the Ripper case closed” by Patricia Cornwell.) Next weekend I’m going to my parents and I’m sure I’ll be getting more presents there. I’ll post about the little treasures I get.

Took this picture today while Darryl and I were walking, and since I love it I decided to post it on the blog tonight.

Well, today is the very first day of 2007 and this post will last till the end of the internet and maybe till future generations when a new type of “internet” takes hold.

With that, I hope everyone had a great New Years eve and didn’t party too hard and woke up sick throwing up this morning.

Not only does this Monday signify a first day in the year but also the first day in a week long celebration of my wifes birth. Her birthday is on January 4th and she’ll be 29 this year. She’s excited on turning 30, I have no idea why, especially since she tried to find gray hairs on her head. I think she’s the only person I know of that enjoys growing old. For me, I can’t wait to be retired and then passing on to be with my eternal family and being with my wife forever.

I do have some good news though. Last Friday with a helpful suggestion from my brother-in-law John, I have a job to go to on Tuesday. Truly a blessing. 2006 was quite a year. Emotionally not a good one, but spiritually an awesome one. My wife has been with me through so much I don’t know how I’d repay her. She’s been with me through my dad going over sea’s, two of my grandmothers passing, and just recent my brother. I’ve been there for her when her last grandmother passed. I can tell you all, it’ll be hard when our parents start passing. That is something we all dread, because parents are our guiding light when our judgment is foggy. Like a beacon. One thing I can tell though, we have more angels around us more than ever looking out for us.

I can tell that 2007 will be a good year. To me all the heartache and hardships we suffered were tests by God to reaffirm our faith. I love and respect the things that come our way a lot more than I previously had and I cherish my friends more than I ever had.

Yes, 2007 will be a great year.

Yea yea, it’s not me that has four days off, but my loverly wife. I’ll be able to bug the shit out of her and then love her up like nothing happened over and over again. Today was the perfect day to stay home. It was raining outside and there was some low lying fog around the area. Truly a Braveheart day.

Flash forward to this evening.

Margaret is working and I’m playing music and deciding to post. She’s currently enduring The Smiths “Shakespeare’s Sister.” What can I say? I played some video games and had some wine. I made Margaret a huge thing of chocolate milk and I think I made her too much. I used this cool Kitchenaid hand held mixer thing I got for free some time last year and it did an excellent job. Unfortunately, that chocolaty deliciosity has caused my loveliness a tummy-ache.

Overall today was a pretty good day. My left eye has started twitching now with the lovely heightened amount of stress I’ve taken on. Sucks not having a steady job. Luckily we’re sitting real good financially. I just hope the dollar doesn’t tank, otherwise we’re all screwed.

oh well, don’t expect much till after Christmas. Thankfully we have loving parents and we’ll be busy (which can be a good thing). Oh yea, I’m talking to my mom and sister more often than I used too and I’m loving it. I know my wife is real happy in finally being part of my family (since there are 2 halves). I did of course send a letter to my other sister who I never mention. I’m trying to get over my own feelings and bridge that gap (even though she’s done some distasteful things in the past to our father).

Okay, that’s officially it for me kids. Ya’ll take care. I hope everyone has a very happy and safe Merry Christmas and New Year. And depending on your faith who’s reading this I hope you have a happy and safe Monday and New Years or if you’re of another religion that doesn’t believe in the Christian way then I wish you all a happy and safe Merry (fill in the blank) and a Happy New Year.

I know across the world all of our religions are different, but I look at ya’ll as the same (as long as ya’ll are nice to me and my wife).

Nighty night folks!

This is a great Friday night!!!

This evening Margaret created some custom queso (and I helped a bit) and it turned out great!!! Then while enjoying a couple of beers, we played the game: Guess that song, the name of the album it was on, who played that song, and what track number that song is. Of course Margaret kicked my ass, I was off of my game tonight. I did guess a 311 song by just 2 seconds worth of guitar feedback. Okay, so I guessed it was 311, but not the name of the song even though the name was in the chorus that I was thinking in my head. I sucked bad tonight.

Then we listened to the recent GFW podcast. There was a funny Max Headroom impersonation in the beginning of it. We crack up hearing friends talking about games. Great stuff.

So now we’re winding down. It’s cold in the house, except in the computer room. We have a lovely ceramic heater in here and it’s keeping us toasty. I think after a couple of pee breaks we’ll probably go to bed.

Even though we didn’t go out tonight, go watch a movie, go to a restaurant, go to a club (yeah right), we really enjoyed (and still enjoying) each others company. I think I’m gonna just grab her a give her a big hug!!!

bye all

Thank goodness another work week has come and gone. This evening I’m sitting here at the puter while the misses reads a book.

We were offered to go out this evening by our friend Krystal to a jazz club. It was very nice and kind of her to call and include us. Margaret was up for going if I wanted to go, so I had this massive weight to decide what I wanted to do (for us). So me being the home body I am, I decided to stay home. I’m hoping she didn’t take it as an insult.

I’ve bought quite a bit of music tonight. It’s nice that now a days we have the opportunity to buy individual tracks to whole albums. This way you can save money on turd albums that have a couple good tunes. Tonight I bought 2 A-Ha albums, 1 In Flames album, 1 INXS album, and 1 Yanni tune. I know what I’ll be doing Monday: Dissecting the music. I’m really critical when it come’s to music. It’s weird, I can really get into the “jazz/avante-gard” music of Mr. Bungle, but if you have me listen to say……The White Stripes…..that’s utter hell for me.

We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow and on in through the night, so naturally the grocery stores were madhouses. Luckily we have a whole chicken and turkey in our deep freezer in case something drastic happens. What am I talking about? This is Tennessee for crying out loud not South Dakota!!!

Well kids, I’m off to get another glass of wine and I’m gonna listen to some tunes.

Love Ya’ll!!!!

Well, after a couple hours of wine and Tetris, I’ve notciced a couple of things. The joke factor wears thin real fast. Where normally, it’d be a cute joke between us, I get competitive and Margaret get’s upset. It is pretty funny. One thing is for sure, instead of a sobriety test of walking the line and touching the nose for drunk drivers, what they should do is play Tetris. I noticed after some queso and fish sticks, eye and hand coordination had greatly diminished.

What was next? A really bad Tetris drinking game of course!!! What else would benefit someone impared by the effects of alcohol than a drinking game? So here were the rules: If you can’t rank up or level up within the 2 minute time frame, you take a sip of wine from the bottle. If you did level or rank up, the other person had to drink and if the time ran out within the following 2 minutes, you were able to keep going with no one drinking. I thought I explained these rules, but of course I am writing this and it I thought I said this, so currently I am correct. **big wryly grin**

So now, I’m off to bed. We’re going to watch Hogan’s Heroes on the little portable DVD player in bed. One thing we’ve noticed since we no longer have a TV in the bedroom is that: A. We have more time for each other and B. The portable DVD player is so small it’ll fit in a drawer. So it works out for the two of us.

Night folks.

Well it seems that we’re supposed to get snow today. I don’t think we’re ever gonna get snow here. The reason why I feel that way? Is because no matter where Margaret and I are, it won’t snow. I think that is fate, haha. Anyway, today was pretty good. At the place of business where my wife and I work something funny happened at break with our friends Andrew and Chris. There’s a lady (we’ll call her Samantha) who’s last day was today and everyone congregated into our breakroom. There was cake, laughter, and announcements. Now mind you, we were in their just for our personal break, the cake that showed up was an added bonus to our festivities. So, Andrew told Chris that today was “Samantha’s” birthday, so Chris proceeded to lightly clap and sing happy birthday. After a couple of seconds, Andrew told Chris that today was actually “Samantha’s” firing day. I tell ya, I was cracking up so hard. This story might not be totally accurate, but it’s close enough

The nice thing about the circle of friends my wife and I hang out with is that everyone kind of feeds off of one another. Say for instance if Andrew and Chris were doing something off the cuff, the lot of us would play along cause it’d be funny. I love it. There’s just something about hanging with like minded people that really brightens my mood everyday at break.

Well, that’s about it for today. If you’re wondering about the picture, I’m in my jammies enjoying my glass of wine before the misses and I head off to play Tetris and gab tonight.
